When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. When you use the app, we collect:
Location data — used to show nearby nurseries, sort marketplace listings by distance, verify neighbor gardens, and map pollinator observations. Location is only accessed when you use these features and is never shared with third parties.
Photos — observation photos you choose to upload are stored in our secure cloud storage (Supabase). Photos are only visible to other app users in the social feed if you post them.
Usage analytics — we use PostHog to understand which features are used. This data is anonymized and never sold. We use Sentry to detect and fix app crashes.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal information with advertisers. We do not track your location in the background. We do not access your camera or photos without your permission.
Supabase — database and authentication (hosted in the US).
iNaturalist — species identification. When you use the species ID feature, your photo coordinates are sent to iNaturalist's public API. No account linkage occurs.
OpenWeatherMap — weather data for garden advice. Only your general area coordinates are sent.
PostHog — anonymized usage analytics (hosted in the US).
Sentry — crash reporting (hosted in the US).
Your data is stored as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.
Beehive Connections is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
You can request a copy of your data, request deletion, or opt out of analytics by contacting us at privacy@beehiveconnections.app.
